Insurance & TPD Claims

DJ Hinton Lawyers specialise in helping people who have suffered loss or damage through no fault of their own. Our focus is on providing a personal, professional and friendly service to ensure our clients receive all the compensation they are due in a timely and cost-effective manner.  If you have suffered some loss or damage due to someone else’s negligence, whether at work, in a motor vehicle, in a public place or even a private residence, you may be entitled to compensation, in which case we can help you.

If you are unable to work for any reason, and if you have superannuation, then you may also be entitled to claim benefits for being either totally or partially permanently disabled. These claims are commonly called “TPD” claims. Many superannuation funds have a TPD policy included, however most people are unaware of such policy and the superannuation fund may not inform you about the policy. If you are in this situation, we again offer a free initial consultation where we can assess your entitlement to make a TPD claim.

Our principal David Hinton has extensive experience in all aspects of insurance and TPD claims, gathered over more than 30 years’ practice.  Over that time David has acted both for claimants, defendants and insurance companies.  This experience in acting on both sides allows us to achieve the best possible outcome for all of our clients as cost effectively as possible.  Because of our experience we are able to act for clients on a “no win no fee” basis.  This means that if your claim ultimately fails, we will not charge you for our legal fees (in some cases, we may charge for outlays).

The area of insurance law in Queensland is now heavily regulated by legislation, and there are time limits and procedures that must be adhered to in order to preserve your claim – failure to do so could result in the loss of your right to claim.  It is therefore important that you obtain advice at an early stage from an experienced insurance lawyer.  We offer a free initial consultation during which we will assess the merits of your claim and advise you if we are prepared to act for you on a no win no fee basis.

Once we agree to act for you, we will guide you through the entire process, and do everything possible to ensure you receive the maximum damages to which you are entitled.  For a free initial consultation contact either of our offices to arrange an appointment with David Hinton.
